Since bees can detect things well, they are often used to detect landmines in war-torn countries. Grain-sized radio plates marked with serial numbers are attached to the bees. You see, bees, in their nature, will locate nectar. However, when these radio plates are attached to them, their preference will change from nectar to material that releases metamphenamine. Fortunately, bees are so light that they will not detonate the landmines.

Did you know that in a single bee hive can contain up to 20 000 - 60 000 bees? That's a hell lot of bees! In addition, the queen bee lays up to 1500 eggs a day! The queen can live up to 2 years, that means a queen can produce more than 1 million bees in their life time!
Bees also have their own different jobs. There are queen, drone, and worker. The drone's sole purpose is to mate with the queen, they do not have any stingers and they live for about only 24 days. Whereas the worker bees have the toughest job, they are females and practically work themselves to death within 40 days collecting pollen and nectar.

The ones that are defending the hive are the worker bees. They have muscular barbed stinger ready anytime they detect any sign of invader. Their stinger will plunge into the skin of the intruder, then the venom pouch will pump poison into that poor soul. So don't you go provoking them and thinking it is a fun thing to do, or that might be the last thing you will ever do!
Overall, I still think that bees are scary and hideous!
